Work

Me sitting in my new (temporary) office.
Many of you have maybe heard about my new, but temporary, promotion to being the full-time web design & development instructor at Seattle Central Community College. But, what you probably don’t know is that we also got a new remodel.
Our Information Technologies division has grown about 300% since I first started teaching there in 2001. So, I guess it was time to get a bit of a face lift if we are going to be seeing that many students.
It has been inspiring for me to walk around the new digs. We are all finally together in one wing and are all very proud to be a part of the future of Information Technology.
Who knows, maybe the media will finally give us some much deserved attention? What do you think, Keith? I got a few jokes you might like.

Shows

Notice my new haircut in this picture?
OH MY GOD! What a hell of a lot of fun a Super Geek League show is! I had no f’ing idea.
Our dear friends Brian & Jess say to the Wife and Me, “You have to go see this band!” Since it is a weekend and I’m still on vacation, I say to myself, “OK… I can go check this thing out and have some fun with our friends Brian, Jess and Steve.” Needless to say… I was pleasantly surprised!
Super Geek League is an incredible band. The music hits you hard, the band is fun to watch, they have a confetti machine, hot chicks AND there is a f’ing leprechaun!
You can see Brian, Jess, Steve, Karin and me having a good ol’ time in the photos below. But, you should definitely check out all of the photos from the show.

Vacations

The Wife, the Dog & Me.
Ok… we actually went to McCall, Idaho.
We’ve had the tradition of going to Idaho and/or Montana for our summer vacation for quite some time now. In the past we’ve camped out on the Salmon river or just stayed in random hotels along the way. But, this time we actually rented a vacation cabin like we were grown-ups.
I must say that this is definitely the way to go from here on out.
We first heard of McCall because our dear friend Kati Sheldon grew up there. Since she seemed to turn out OK, we decided to check it out. It is f’ing beautiful.
McCall is kinda like a perfect blend between Sun Valley, ID and Chico, CA. It has the mountains and trees of Sun Valley and the small town hippie community of Chico. Unfortunately we missed the Mother Hips when they rolled through to play at Common Ground Cafe the week before.
The wife, the dog and I had a great time just chillin’ out. We had fun hanging out at the lake, going to some hot springs, eating some good food and relaxing in the sun.

Parties

You Can't See Me.
Like any professional twelve year old, I watch wrestling. Yes, I said wrestling.
So… it goes like this… we like to have an annual party for WrestleMania. It’s a good excuse to have our friends over to drink some beer, have some burgers, eat some magic bars and bet a dollar or two on things that are already written. We just don’t know what they are yet.
Here’s to Randy Orton getting his ass kicked by Triple H!

Vacations

I Love the Roller-Coasters!
So… the wife wanted to ride some roller-coasters at Magic Mountain. Who was I to deny the request? I mean… she still let’s me crash at the house every night, right? Apparently roller-coasters are her only adrenaline outlet in this world. Me, I used to snow-board, ride a motorcycle and do a whole lot of dumb boy-type things that got my adrenaline pumping when I was younger. I guess if this is her way, so be it, eh?
Anyhow… we had a lot of fun and that’s all that really matters to me. It was nice to meet up with her brother, Erik and his three kids: Guinevere, Leif and Jean. Her brother is a good father and the kids are extremely cute.
This leads me to confess to you that one of the reasons for the trip was to get all of this out of Karin’s system before she tries to get pregnant. That being said, I can tell you that this was an unofficial experiment for me to hang out with children at an amusement park. I am happy to report that the experiment was a success and that I am looking forward to having children with my lovely wife down the road here. But, you will never, ever, NEVER, EVER get me on the Atomic Barf ride that Karin, Leif and Guinevere went on.
