This letter is written to announce my intention to pursue the full-time, tenure track Instructor of Web (UI/UX) Design position in the Business, Information Technology & Creative Arts Division at Seattle Central College.
When Karin told me that her water broke on Sunday night, I just didn’t believe her. The Baby wasn’t due until the 21st! And, isn’t that whole water breaking “first” thing just in the movies?!
Well… it’s over. I did it. I am now (officially) a Master of Science in Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) from the University of Washington.
All in all, music has been an important piece of my life since I was fourteen. But, in the last few years since going to grad school and having a child, I’ve had to give up playing in bands. And, my music career (if you can call it that) has all but died with its boots on.

Ruby Lee is my 1993 Toyota 4×4 that had only 60k miles on her the day I brought her home in 1997. Since then, she has proven to be one of the things that I can always count on in my life and has had many, many miles put on her.
We have been paying roughly $150/mo. with Comcast for our internet connection and a decent package of television programming. So, what would it cost to get the same programming through Apple TV, I wondered?
After another long and hard summer of teaching and finishing up my capstone project, I needed something to do over my break that wasn’t related to school or teaching. So, I decided that it was time to shut the computer off and build the kid a bunk bed.

As many of you know, I am a part-time instructor at Seattle Central Community College. I have been teaching there since 2001 and very much love my job. But, this week I found out that our state senate wants to cut health care benefits for part-time employees.
Seriously, don’t tell Jesus or his old man that I am an Atheist because after another rough quarter, I really needed this vacation. And, you know my wife needed it too.

So far, 2012 has been shaping up to be one hell of another year. My schedule has been anything but lite, the boy is growing up faster than I can keep up with, the cat has become a professional at walking in front of me everywhere and the dog’s pathetic face has been fine-tuned into an absolute masterpiece.
