I am proud to announce that August Michael Sinkula arrived today, Wednesday – December 01, 2010 at 1:01pm. He was delivered at the Seattle Home Maternity Services birthing center in the Columbia City district of Seattle and weighed in at 7lbs 10oz.

We decided to go with the natural and medication free delivery using a midwife and a doula. We also used hypnobirthing techniques to keep Karin calm and focused. Everything managed to go quickly and smoothly.

I encourage you to read my wife’s birth story because for one of the first times in my life… I am truly speechless.

Wow! I am so excited for all three of you. Here you go on a whole new life as a dad. Can you believe it? I can. You will be wonderful. Karen will be amazing. And, to be perfectly honest, August will probably be a bit of a handful—as all smart, beautiful children should be.

Congratulations!

Congratulations, Karin and Mike (and little August). I am so happy for you all. This is beyond amazing! They say having a child changes everything in a person, and even in this little photo, I can already see it. That speechlessness, Mike, must be peace, because you look it. Peaceful and content.

The sap in me is actually near tears. Congratulations and lots of love.

P.S. August is such a fantastic name!

Good going, you guys. The whole WEB210 class is looking at your sweet family picture and cheering, especially the women. (Why IS that?)

I wish you a wonderful next couple of weeks (and beyond)…it will be like nothing you have ever experienced, being wrapped around August’s little finger.

Congratulations on a darling son! You are starting on a wonderful adventure that changes your life–mostly for the better. It’s just that lack of sleep those first few months…
